The theme for Black History Month 2024 celebrates the many contributions Black Americans have made in music, architecture, culinary arts, literature, film, visual, performing arts, and other forms of cultural expression. Through art, important issues and figures in Black history are elevated, and underrepresented stories are preserved. Art plays a role in connection to community and inspiring action.
Image Conscious recognizes the achievements of many Black artists in our community; in this Spotlight we are highlighting works by Marcella Hayes Muhammad, Noland Anderson, Robert Jackson, Justin Copeland and Salaam Muhammad.
