New Feature: Color Explorer

To repeat from our previous post about our new Color filter tool: We have a lot of artwork, and our offerings keep growing and growing. How do you narrow it all down to what you’re looking for?

To help you find just the right artwork for your particular client or project, we’ve added another new feature: the Color Explorer.

The Color Explorer is a more exact way to search for artwork having a particular color. Choose a color and hit the Find Art button, and browse, filter and collect your found artwork from there.

Check it out:

New: Filter Found Art by Color

We have a lot of art! And more arrives all the time. The challenge is finding the right art for your client or project without having to wade through our entire offering of thousands of artworks.

To assist your search we already provide a search field at the top of every page, lots of “Find Art” menu choices (Top Sellers, New Art, All Art,  links to Category and Subject Tag lists and more), and lots of links on the home page (sidebar Category and Product Line lists, links to All Publications, Stock Publications, Distributed Prints, Resizable Prints, Explore Artists)… the list goes on.

Once you’ve made an initial choice and you’re browsing art, we also have filters in the left sidebar to refine your initial search results: Category, Product Line, Product Type, Aspect – and now: Color.

The Color filter limits the results shown to art having a color similar to the color you clicked, marked with a check. Multiple color choices are allowed, and will expand the results.

We’re not done – already on the list of improvements to be added soon: Links to items that are monochromatic/all grey, since that’s a frequent search.

Happy Browsing!

Featured Artist :: Vahe Yeremyan

Y31D - Yeremyan, Vahe - Rowboats

Southern California-based landscape artist Vahe Yeremyan obtained a Master’s degree in Fine Art and later a PhD in Fine Art Therapy. Vahe was a professor in Fine Art department and mentored many students. “I always encouraged my students to paint from their heart. I believe that art is about love and spirit which cannot be fractional.”

Ocean Side – Pacific Highway reminds us to pull over to the side of the road and enjoy the ocean while Field of Lavenders 2 gives us pause to stop, reflect and enjoy the colors in front of us.

“My emotions, inspiration and life is about painting; it is as ordinary as breathing – it is natural part of me. I can’t imagine a single day without oil colors, brushes and canvases. Harmonious colors and bold compositions help to keep the conversation to the viewer. I am thankful that life has given me opportunity to be educated by the brightest professors and gain inspiration from the greatest masters of all times.”

Spotlight :: Alternative Substrates

Bamboo

After you’ve found the perfect image, match it to the perfect substrate. Besides our standard paper, cotton rag and canvas substrates, we offer three alternative substrates: acrylic, bamboo and metal.

Acrylic: Our transparent acrylic substrate gives every image a fresh, modern, contemporary appearance. Your clients will love the clean, polished edges, and how their chosen artwork will literally “stand out” on the walls.

Metal: Artwork printed on metal seem to compel the viewer to take a deeper look. It’s astounding how metal can give images a new, vibrant dimension – especially abstracts and painted landscapes. A layer of quality brushed aluminum is bonded to a non-warping substrate, and the image can either be printed directly onto the metal or first printed on a white backing.

Wood: Composed of sustainably grown and harvested bamboo, our wood substrate is naturally moisture- and mold-resistant. The natural blond surface of wood both “warms” the look of every image, while it unexpectedly showcases their colors in new and inviting ways.

Contact your account representative today about our alternative substrate options.

Featured Artist :: Iris Lehnhardt

A native of Germany, Iris Lehnhardt lives and works as a freelance painter with in-depth artistic studies at the Wiesbadener Freie Kunstschule and at the Academy of Contemporary Art on Lake Constance, among others.

Her images move in the field of tension between chromatic image surfaces, gestural painting and graphic elements. Silent color accents and shades are in dialogue with sensitive multiple layers and a variety of structures. In an open work process she explores the possibilities of assembling different materials and their dissolution.
