Duffy, Naomi Taitz
Naomi Taitz Duffy was brought up in New York City where she began her art training at the High School of Music and Art. She attended college at Washington University in St. Louis where she earned a BFA with and emphasis in Illustration. After completing university, Naomi worked as a graphic designer at a studio in New York and later went on to earn Masters Degree in Childhood Education. During several years working as a primary school teacher in New York City, Naomi explored various artistic mediums through coursework at the Art Students League in New York, where she met her husband in a figure drawing class. After moving to Washington DC and giving birth to her son in 2012, Naomi stopped teaching to stay at home with her son and to reengage with her art. Now a mother of two, Naomi has recently committed to working on her painting full time. Over the past several years, she has participated in several exhibitions, has completed an artist in residence in Dublin, Ireland, and has had her work included in various international publications. In 2017 she relocated with her family to the seaside village of Howth in Ireland where she paints out of her home studio inspired by the nearby cliff walks and views of the Irish sea. Her paintings are held in private collections internationally.
